Millions of Haitians are confronting a complex crisis driven by political and economic turmoil, leading to violence and food and water scarcity. More than 19,000 people in Haiti are experiencing hunger at a catastrophic level. Another 4 million people are facing severe food insecurity. Your donation to the Haiti Crisis Relief Fund will provide emergency assistance to people in need and support long-term response efforts led by local organizations.
More than 60% of Haiti's capital is under the control of gangs. Growing violence between armed groups has led to a blockade of a critical oil terminal and kept residents from accessing food aid, markets, and workplaces. The explosion of gang violence in Port-au-Prince is also putting women and children at grave risk. The number of cases of sexual violence increases daily as the crisis in Haiti worsens. A cholera outbreak is now adding to the challenges people are facing across the country.
All donations to this fund will support emergency relief and response efforts in Haiti, distributing food, clean water, medicine, and other essential supplies to people in need. As immediate needs are met, the fund will transition to support long-term response and recovery efforts led by local organizations in Haiti. These efforts will be led by GlobalGiving's network of long-standing vetted partners in the region.

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
