Dear Project of the Month Club Member,
This month, we’re kicking off summer beach trips by journeying to Curaçao, a remote Dutch Caribbean island known for its secluded beaches and expansive coral reefs rich with marine life. Each year, several endangered sea turtle species travel to this tropical haven to lay their eggs. Between June and September, up to 5,000 baby turtles will hatch—but in the face of dangerous predators, illegal poaching, and rising pollution, their survival is far from certain.
This is where our May Project of the Month, Friends of Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao, comes in.
With programs ranging from public education to pollution reduction around nesting sites, this locally-led organization is working to ensure that the turtle mothers of Curaçao can nest safely for years to come—and that their hatchlings are able to make it to the surrounding ocean. By saving sea turtles from poaching and entanglement, as well as raising public support for conservation, Friends of Sea Turtle Conservation Curaçao is giving these endangered animals a chance to live long, healthy lives, and protecting overall marine biodiversity in the process.

Thank you for your continued generosity and compassion!
With gratitude,

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
