Dear Project of the Month Club Member,
Did you know that malaria is still the leading cause of death in Uganda? Although this disease is both curable and preventable, high healthcare costs and a lack of education mean that many people across the country still become ill, particularly in rural communities.
Our July Project of the Month, Kagumu Development Organization, is helping families stay safe by educating mothers on malaria prevention, as well as providing free mosquito nets and treatment. Their project Save 750 Pregnant Women from Malaria in Uganda focuses on the Kibuku district, a rural region where communities often struggle to access much-needed healthcare.
To learn more about how the Kagumu Development Organization is helping families in Uganda stay healthy, check out their most recent report.
Thank you for your commitment to a better world!
Warmly,
Donna Callejon

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
