Providing protection services for women & girls

Challenge

Women and girls in the Gaza Strip have suffered from various types of violence and gender-based violence throughout the years of the blockade and the repeated Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip. The latest Israeli attacks in May 2023 made matters worse, as about 310 families comprising 1,722 people (including 773 children and 498 women) were internally displaced. While the No. of martyrs reached 34, including 4 women, and the No. of injuries reached 147, including 26 women.

Solution

The project aims to provide multi-sectoral services to 200 women & girls affected by the recent escalation in the Gaza Strip, who were forcibly internally displaced as a result of the bombing of their homes by the Israeli forces & the destruction of all their property under the rubble. The services will include psychosocial and legal support, health services and cash assistance necessary to provide the basic requirements. Providing support to these groups will protect them from any exploitation.

Long-Term Impact

Providing urgent support to 200 women and girls who have been displaced from their homes means actively contributing to the continuation of their lives while preserving their dignity and protecting them from exploitation, including SEA, restoring hope to their souls, removing them from the cycle of despair, & cultivating hope in fulfilling their aspirations and dreams that were buried under the rubble of their destroyed homes. And restore their self-confidence and strengthen their resilience.
