13,000 children in Spain live in an emergency at home. Have you ever had trouble making ends meet? Millions of families used to be unable to make ends meet. Now, with the rising cost of basic necessities, their situation has worsened. Children are also suffering the consequences: 1 in 3 children in Spain are at risk of poverty or social exclusion. An emergency at home caused by food, education, energy and mental health needs.
Rising prices of energy supplies (electricity and gas), food and other goods (electricity and gas), food and other essential goods has created an emergency in the and other basic necessities has created an emergency in the households of 1.5 million families with children in our country who were already in a situation of vulnerability before this latest crisis, and who have gone from making ends meet with difficulties to not being able to cover their basic needs.
In response to this situation, SOS Children's Villages has launched the Emergency at Home campaign, which seeks to compensate for the inequalities suffered by these children and adolescents through direct assistance to families to meet food, energy and educational expenses, in addition to providing psychosocial and mental health support.
We firmly believe that by supporting families in this way, we can improve the quality of family dynamics and thus prevent stress and situations of violence and abuse from occurring. With this we avoid the separation of children from their parents, because we believe that there is no better place for children than with their family.
