Impulso Universitario supports youth in socioeconomic vulnerability conditions in Yucatan so they access and remain in their university studies. With the project, we want to back up 4 young students for a year on their way to achieving their vocations and completing their studies. We invite people to support our efforts to provide financial aid to our Youth. Through aid and the complementary programs of the organization, we make access and permanence in higher education possible.
Access to higher education in Yucatan is limited for young people in positions of disadvantage. Only 1 or 2 out of every ten students get the opportunity to study in universities. Even those with access later struggle with their permanence as they face several economic and social barriers leading to early academic drop-out. The project will address this by offering support to four youths, as a part of a wider generation of students, through financial aid and our intervention model.
Our intervention model seeks to directly impact young people's academic and human trajectories through various benefits, such as a personalized financial aid amount, a comprehensive training program, tutoring, psychological and pedagogical support, and an employment linkage program. We deliver resources to each young student every month of the year during their complete university studies. The intention is for them to cover educational expenses such as transport or supplies.
We intend to give young people tools to pursue their university studies and develop skills for personal, professional, and social life. Our mission is to help students complete their education while training them as Agents of Change with a social conscience sensitized to their environment's needs. With this training, they can generate concrete actions for the betterment of their communities in the long term through their own projects and activities.
